Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), based in Nashville, Tennessee, is the largest ($1.5B) private corrections facility management company in the United States. CCA contracted with Carmel Information Technology to provide strategic IT consulting services, including IT governance, organizational development and program management. Carmel Information Technology recommended the formation and facilitated regular meetings of a Technology Steering Committee as a method of assuring that the IT projects were business priority driven. CCA was exceptionally pleased with the results of this year-long engagement.

Nanometrics, located in Milpitas, California, is a manufacturer of semiconductor fabrication equipment. Carmel Information Technology performed a full end-to-end SOX IT audit and assessment. This included interviewing key players; constructing process flow charts and risk control matrices; conducting walkthroughs; suggesting and implementing remediations, including writing policies and procedures; conducting and documenting test results.

Northrop Grumman, headquartered in Century City, California, is a large US aerospace/defense contractor. Carmel Information Technology planned a large ERP implementation using software from SAP, the world’s largest ERP software provider.

Riverside County
Riverside County, California, a large Southern California county located east of Los Angeles, engaged Carmel Information Technology to perform an audit and assessment of the county property tax system. Working closely with the County Assessor, County Auditor and County Tax Collector, Carmel Information Technology analyzed all facets of the property tax system and recommended several options to either remediate the system vulnerabilities or to replace the system. The County chose to install a new property tax system, which is now operational.

Sun Microsystems, based in Santa Clara, California, is a $14B manufacturer of computer software and hardware. Carmel Information Technology performed a reconciliation between Sun corporate SOX policies and procedures with those of individual business units.

Wise Metals, a $1B aluminum manufacturing company, is located in Baltimore, Maryland, and Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Wise engaged Carmel Information Technology to perform a full end-to-end SOX IT audit and assessment. Based upon interviews with key executives and IT personnel, it was determined that Wise required a new set of IT policies and procedures. Carmel Information Technology provided the new policies and procedures and assisted the client in implementing new procedures and remediating existing procedures, where possible.
